Maldives begins workshop on distance learning

Ministry of Education commenced Sunday a two-day workshop to increase the number of distance learning students.
Held jointly with the Commonwealth of Learning, 36 tertiary educators participated in the workshop titled “Validation of National Policy on Open and Distance”.
According to the education ministry, the national policy on open and distance learning draft will be discussed and finalised during the workshop. The draft is the first national policy on distance education to be established in the Maldives.
The ministry stated that the policy will spike the number of students involved in distance learning as well as take the education sector to higher levels.
